Older Adults Home Modification Program (OAHMP)
OAHMP is a federal program that, with the help of licensed occupational therapists, offer seniors free, high-impac, low-cost home modifications so they may age-in-place safely. Benefits include decrease risk of falling, improve general safety, increase accessibility, and improve functional abilities in the home. Examples of free home modifications are install temporary ramps, install toilet riser with handle, adjust door swing, repair floor transitions, or install handrails.
Do you qualify?
- Are you age 62 or ove?
- Are you the primary resident of the home or rental unit to be repaired?
- Is your family income below 80% of area median income?
- Do you live in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison or Transylvania County?
